About North Shore

North Shore Rescue Squad operates daily to cover the needs of Staten Island. We also provide medical coverage to community events such as High School football games, road races, health fairs, school graduations, car shows, the Irish Fair and events at Historic Richmond Town. We also provide NYC public school demonstrations and speakers. If you see our ambulance, stop by for a blood pressure screening.

North Shore is part of the city and regional mutual aid systems and complies with all state and local regulations. Working as a volunteer with the Squad offers excellent experience if you are considering entry into Healthcare.

North Shore Rescue Squad Volunteer Ambulance is a volunteer group which runs up to three Tours per day. We have a morning, an afternoon, and an evening shift. These are staffed by an active membership of just over 50 volunteers who are New York State certified paramedics and EMTs. If you're not an EMT, we also offer membership to certified first aid and CPR volunteers. If you are interested in becoming CPR & First Aid certified or becoming an EMT we can assist you with registering for classes.

We encourage people who wish to contribute and prefer to not serve riding an ambulance, to inquire about non-riding membership on the squad.
